本片讲述了主人公马扁在北京的北漂故事。马扁在北京寻找音乐梦想的过程中，遇到了事业、爱情、友情......。故事的主人公是喜欢魔法的高中生黒羽快斗，他的父亲是在8年前因事故而死亡的大魔法师·黒羽盗一。某日，他在房间一栋隐秘门中发现传说中的怪盗基德的衣服，于是他打算会见基德。在那里，他遇到了父亲过去的同伴·寺井，并得知父亲就是怪盗基德，而且死因不是事故死而是他杀。于是，快斗为查出杀害父亲的犯人，而自己成为了基德。 本作和《名侦探柯南》有不少共通点。例如怪盗基德在两作中均有出现、迷之组织的登场、主人公真正身份不被世人所知，等等，感觉就像是融合了魔法元素的柯南。。Over 133 years in the making, from humble beginnings manufacturing 'Hanufuda' cards came one of the world's most recognised videogame companies, from the birth of Mario and Luigi to Donkey Kong and Zelda... to beating its competition and presenting itself as a platform for quality games and strong values.
