西南边陲勐岗边境检查站站长雷龙，是一个屡建奇功的缉毒英雄。境外的武装毒枭孟老大对他恨之入骨，千方百计要害死雷龙。而另一伙毒枭韩永仁则手段更加阴险毒辣，扬言要使雷龙从缉毒英雄变成“贩毒英雄”，从精神上来打垮雷龙。在这两个毒枭的精心设计下，雷龙遭到警队的停职查办。为了彻底打败毒枭，还自己一个清白，在组织处分、同事反目、家人离去时，他忍辱负重、深入虎穴，用聪明与智慧夺取了“猎枭行动”的最后胜利。雷龙在和三个女人的感情纠葛之中，尽显出一个真男人、真汉子、真心英雄本色。。改编自萨尔曼·拉什迪的名作《午夜之子》，它用男主角萨利姆·希奈的一生道尽印巴复杂历史时期的人事变迁，以魔幻现实主义手法构造出一个出人意料的奇思怪想：在印度同一时刻降生的1001个孩子，能够在一个人的心灵中每夜聚会，这个会议于是成了现代印度的一面镜子。这个基本构想足以造就一部杰作，因为它不仅给了人一个新奇的意象，而且赋予《午夜之子》以史诗般广阔的画面，使观众得以从多个视角认识印度社会。电影在很大程度上遵从了原著，以自由飞腾的想象力，通过一个人的命运来审视一个民族的历史，使作品具有丰富的社会内容和深刻的思想内容。萨尔曼·拉什迪本人则担任了本片的旁白。。In this bitingly satirical film Peter Slovan, a continuous source of trouble for the film functionaries of the socialist Slovakia, tackles an evergreen topic – the corruptive effects of power. Barnabáš Kos, a triangle player at a symphonic orchestra, is suddenly promoted to serve as the head of the said institution, even though both he and his superiors deem him completely unfit for the task. Encouraged in equal parts by this unexpected recognition and the servile praise of his colleagues, Kos’s modesty starts to gradually vanish. The erstwhile bashful and aloof percussionist quickly becomes aware of the advantages of his new office, and begins to realise his increasingly ludicrous artistic ambitions. Ultimately, the submissive marionette turns into a source of public humiliation, and his astonishing career finds an abrupt end. Orchestra serves here as a microcosm that grotesquely reflects the absurd and tragicomic mechanisms of the paranoid apparatus of power.
