宴春园饭店的老板魏成军，去菜市场检查供货商的菜品，遇见卖菜的贺庭，赞助他一百块买三轮，口头玩笑协议，做他的赞助商，成为他的搭档。同时遇见装勤劳能吃苦的白灵、白亮和白浩，在他们仨个的装乖之下，把他们带回去收为徒弟，真心对待。。供职于制药公司的小职员田中信男拖着病体赶回公司，无意中服用了公司与军方合作的实验药品。自此信男成为了制造致命臭气的肉身工厂，对此毫不自知的信男却按照上司命令将药品样本送往东京总部，一路上引起大面积恐慌，军方不得不派出大批军队半路截杀信男。Speedy" loses his job as a soda-jerk, then spends the day with his girl at Coney Island. He then becomes a cab driver and delivers Babe Ruth to Yankee Stadium, where he stays to see the game. When the railroad tries to run the last horse-drawn trolley (operated by his girl's grandfather) out of business, "Speedy" organizes the neighborhood oldtimers to thwart their scheme.。
